Rickey Lewis created the characters of Popadelic in 1979-1980 and has been developing their stories across mediums for over four decades. The graphic novel version of Popadelic was copyrighted in 2011. He lives in Euclid, Ohio, where he writes speculative fiction that asks what happens when stories refuse to stay on the page.
